1.6.15 Cider Mill Teams/Trivia/Tunes Recap

1.6.15 CIDER MILL TRIVIA

Going to the Cider Mill is like going home. It's familiar. Comfortable, like it's always been there and always will be. I think that's what I appreciate about the Cider Mill the most. It's as though I get to gather every week with my Trivia friends and just relax and enjoy some great food, great people, great music, and, of course, great Trivia!

TEAMS: VAN DE GRAF & THE GENERATORS (85) needed just 3 seconds for the final round to put the competition away, sealing a well-deserved victory. FEMBOTS HAVE FEELINGS TOO (82) kicked off their 2015 Winter League campaign with a perfect final round after an up and down contest that hi-lighted their aggressive wagering strategy. TRIGGER HAPPY BUNNIES (81) eyed the tiger and KO'd the final question for a full 15 points, picking up our final prize.

BOX SQUAD (80) impressed throughout the night as they squared off against the competition and Dice, who repeatedly tried to flatten their squad to a square. CHIMP N' IT (76), our leaders through the first half and into the final round, monkeyed around on the final question and found a way to snatch defeat from almost certain victory...You're killing me Smalls! WAY UP THERE shook off their Trivia rust and delivered several of tonight's more creative wrong-but-oh-so-right answers. SCRATCH N' SNIFF clawed their way near the top of the leaderboard through 4 rounds, but failed to land on their feet after falling in the later rounds.

TRIVIA: Fried chicken. If you ask Dice, it just doesn't get much better than fried chicken. This is
especially true at the Cider Mill, which features the world-famous Fryer Tuck Chicken.

Have you enjoyed IFC, better known as, Indiana Fried Chicken? No? Well, you could have, had Harland Sanders stayed in his state of birth. Instead, Colonel Sanders, a twice-honored Kentucky Colonel, created and served his now famous fried chicken from his Shell gas station in Corbin, Kentucky after failing at a variety of careers from working on the railroad to practicing law, a career he lost after a courtroom brawl with his client. In the early 1950's, Sanders recognized the franchise potential of his chicken and the first franchise was opened in South Salt Lake, Utah. By the time Sanders passed away in 1980 at the age of 90 after being diagnosed with leukemia, his KFC restaurant empire had expanded worldwide to more than 6,000 franchises in nearly 50 countries.

TUNES: Dice has his Cake and he played them three times too... Dice felt Pearl Jam should make a rare Trivia appearance with "Yellow Ledbetter," but only a few teams were able to hi-light the correct answer. Aloe Blacc, The O'Jays, and Everlast were all money at halftime, and we kicked up our  heels to Postmodern Jukebox's vintage bluegrass cover of "Blurred Lines."

Thank you again for an awesome night of Trivia, Cider Mill...see you next Tuesday!
